Minneapolis office seeks a commercial real estate paralegal. The candidate will be responsible for: Preparation of legal descriptions, plotting of existing descriptions, determining property locations; reviewing title commitments and surveys; corresponding with title companies and surveyors; checking public records such as real estate taxes, special assessments and registration of title to property; and checking on city regulations which include municipal zoning, platting, building ordinances and subdivision ordinances, regulations or procedures. A college degree is required with 5+ years of experience, or a paralegal certificate with 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate.

Though recently established, the Newport Beach office of this national firm is expanding rapidly and primarily represents clients in the areas of intellectual property; corporate finance; mergers and acquisitions; technology licensing and executive compensation, public finance; real estate; and banking and bankruptcy. The firm has hired very conservatively in recent years ? thus, the firm is relatively insulated against mass lay-offs and the firm?s attorneys have an abundance of interesting work. While the firm claims its annual billable hour goal for associates is 1,850 hours, bonuses are based on hitting 2000+ hours at 100-hour increments up to 2400. The firm also requires that associates commit to 50 hours of pro bono work per year.
