Paralegal II ? Boise, ID - 879

Role Purpose ?

Assist Syngenta?s corporate legal team in all aspects of its legal practice, providing assistance in legal guidance and document preparation necessary to meet company objectives and help ensure compliance with federal, state, local and ethical rules and regulations in the conduct of business activities.

Accountabilities ?

Providing substantive organizational, administrative and legal assistance with regard to Legal Dept. activities. Provide paralegal support in the areas of legal document creation, preparation, review, editing, compliance and/or management with regulations, litigation coordination and contract negotiation.
? Transaction management for increasing more complicated matters, including document organization and review, maintenance of correspondence and filing, coordination of document distributions, and communication with attorneys (internal and external), internal clients and vendors.
? Provide paralegal support in the areas of legal document preparation, compliance with regulations, litigation coordination and contract negotiation.
? Implement and maintain various file tracking and databases.
? Provides research and analysis for a variety of compliance issues, creates summary and recommendations
? Provide input on budget. Helps track department spend or project costs.
? Assists in managing, updating, completing and distribution of legal budget.
? Proactively interacts with outside counsel and can articulate issues and respond to inquiries regarding specific file or project.
? Assists with gathering and facilitating written and document discovery associated with litigation.
? Prepare, provide more substantive review based on business knowledge and files increasingly complex legal documents with appropriate entities as required. Prepare and organize case/matter files, notes and legal documents.
? Document examples: Purchase Agreements, Production Agreements, Sales Agreements, Distribution Agreements, Research Agreements or Consulting Agreements.
? Provides advanced review, substantive input and editing of correspondence, reports and presentations.
? Provides in depth and robust analysis using general and complex information sources, on more advance and diverse issue.
? Conducts basic legal research using legal search engine and state and federal databases.
? Tracks electronic legal dockets using electronic filing databases.
? Comply with records retention policies.
? Manage basic and single corporate records.

Knowledge, experience & capabilities ?

Critical knowledge:

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years related experience.
? Requires paralegal certification (or associate degree in paralegal studies).
? Bachelor?s degree with a paralegal certificate or equivalent professional experience, training and/or certification in addition to the experience requirement desired.

Critical Skills:

? Ability to analyze and interpret complex legal documents and conduct basic legal research using Internet-based tools.
? Professionalism including creation of an ethical, highly communicative and transparent, results oriented environment within the legal team and within Syngenta.
? Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
? Ability to interact with people in a respectful, cooperative but assertive manner resulting in the achievement of department and company goals.
? Flexible and willing to work on a broad variety of legal matters.
? Detail-oriented. Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
? Imaginative insight in the development of creative strategies and new practices while challenging the conventional practices.
? Maintain safe working conditions. At all times, conduct work personally and for those supervised with the utmost of worker safety in mind.
? Set and maintain high work standards for self and those supervised for efficiency and accountability for action as performed.
? Excellent skills in Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe and PowerPoint.
? Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
