IPA was formed in 1979 as the Indianapolis Paralegal Association in response to the growing need for an organized professional association for paralegals. In 1983, the name was changed to the Indiana Paralegal Association, Inc. and was incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation. IPA is a grass roots organization whose policy is developed by consensus of the majority of its membership. It has grown from an organization consisting of a small handful of pioneer members to the successful collaboration of several hundred paralegals.

In their blog you can keep up to date on the latest IPA, NFPA and paralegal related news.
