Hendler Flores Law, PLLC based in Austin, Texas, is an international plaintiffs' trial firm devoted to representing and advancing the interests of people with catastrophic injuries and families who have lost loved ones in wrongful death cases. We are looking for an outgoing individual who is professional, responsible, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills, careful attention to detail, and the ability to self-manage and work proactively are imperative.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communicate with clients, experts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and Court personnel
Maintain and organize litigation case files in our online case management system
Order/subpoena records from various facilities, entities, and government organizations
Record review and summarization
Draft case-related correspondence, pleadings, motions, and orders
Manage and monitor firm calendar and case deadlines
Propound, answer, analyze and organize discovery
Assist in deposition, mediation, trial preparation, and legal research
Prepare client matters for trials throughout the US
Answer and direct phone calls, book travel arrangements, and other administrative duties as needed
Maintain and use court E-file systems
Coordinate attorney schedules, travel arrangements, and a variety of other legal and/or administrative work
Some travel is necessary from time to time for trial and other firm related purposes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Four-year degree from an accredited university
Paralegal certification from ABA accredited program preferred
Five years experience working as a litigation paralegal with experience assisting at trials
Medical background is a plus
Knowledge of general office practices, conduct and professional etiquette
Skilled in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
Skilled in exercising sound judgment and effective decision making
Excellent writing and communication skills
High energy level, optimistic outlook, and high level of initiative
Proficient using Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat; comfortable learning new software
Experience with FileVine an asset
Willingness to travel and be away from home for trial for several weeks at a time
Covid and annual flu vaccination mandatory

During the Covid pandemic our law practice adopted a remote work model which will remain in place for the foreseeable future. All employees must be comfortable working from a home office utilizing video conferencing.

The compensation package we are offering is competitive for the Austin market and contingent upon skills, experience & education.
